Kong Lor Cave

Located in the mountainous terrain of the little-visited Khammouane province, Kong Lor is a spectacular 7km long cavern with a navigable river running through its length which leads to a remote village. A good base for the trip to Kong Lor is the Spring River Resort, a rustic Lao style lodge located 5 hours by road from Vientiane, set on the banks of the Hin Boun River surrounded by limestone pinnacles. The Kong Lor Cave is a short journey by local boat up the Hin Boun River, travelling through some of the most spectacular limestone karst scenery in Laos. Glide through the mystical cave, passing locals going about their daily business. Once through the cave enjoy a local style lunch in the remote village before returning through the cave and continuing your onward journey.
