The RV Katha Pandaw was built in 2012 in the style of the old K class cruise boats that were used in Colonial Burma in the 1880s. The Katha Pandaw has been operating on the Irrawaddy in Burma and the Mekong in Cambodia and Vietnam and is now operating on the exciting 7 night itinerary on the Kapuas River in Kalimantan. It has 16 cabins in total, 10 main deck and 6 upper deck, all with twin beds, modern amenities and en-suite shower room. As with all Pandaw cruises, on board, there is served a combination of local cuisine and exotic foods, cooked from local supplies as far as possible. Breakfast and lunch are buffets and dinner is served at the tables. Passengers who do not like hot or spicy foods are offered European alternatives and vegetarians are well catered for. A Pandaw river cruise is essentially an outdoor experience and, whilst the cabins are very comfortable and roomy, most passengers prefer to spend their time sitting outside, on the promenade or on observation decks, watching great vistas unfold about them.

Our Opinion

A wonderful river cruise experience - a relaxing way to discover some of Asia's best kept secrets.
