Cambodia Passport & Visa Information
Back to all travel tipsWhat passport and visa do I need to visit Cambodia?
Passports
It is a requirement of the Cambodian Government that British visitors to Cambodia possess a valid 10-year passport and that the passport has at least six months validity from the date you arrive in Cambodia. It must be undamaged with no pages missing. You will also require at least two blank pages for visa purposes. Please check that your passport complies with the above well in advance of travel.
Visas
Visa requirements can change at any time, so it is essential that all travellers check the latest advice for Cambodia on the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) website: gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/cambodia. Currently those travelling on a full British passport from the UK, must have a visa to enter and travel through Cambodia.
E-visa
The easiest option is to apply online for an e-visa prior to arrival in Cambodia. This can only be used at the main entry points and costs US$36. To apply for an e-visa please visit: evisa.gov.kh. If you find the e-visa service offline, it is advisable to try again at another time.
Visa on arrival
In most cases we recommend that you purchase your visa online prior to arrival, which should eliminate possible waiting times on entry into Cambodia. As mentioned, online visas are not valid at some border crossings into Cambodia and you will therefore need to purchase your visa on arrival should this apply to your intended travel route. For the latest information on border crossings please check www.evisa.gov.kh/information/port_entry/3.
E-Arrival Card
In addition to obtaining a visa, all visitors entering Cambodia by air at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville international airports are required to complete an electronic E-Arrival Card. This replaces the paper immigration and customs forms previously completed on arrival. You must complete the online form within seven days prior to arrival in Cambodia, which can be done here: arrival.gov.kh. Following completion you will receive an email with a QR code, which you will need to show as you pass through immigration. Some airlines may also request proof of completion prior to boarding your international flight, therefore please ensure you have the relevant documentation to hand. If you are not entering Cambodia by air as above, you will be able to complete the form on arrival. There is no charge for the Cambodia E-Arrival Card.
