We recommend watching a film or two before you travel to set the scene, and taking a book to read whilst you travel, to enhance your understanding and enjoyment of Laos.

Films
‘The Rocket' (2013), which has won numerous international film festival awards and was considered for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2014 Oscars. Other English language films either about, or set in, Laos are few and far between and are mostly limited to the Vietnam War-genre such as ‘Air America' and ‘Red Dawn', which feature Laos sparingly and are generally none too informative.
