Brijrama Palace one of the Varanasi's oldest landmarks. The Palace dates back to 1812, and throughout the years it has been host to ministers, kings, and Maratha rulers. The hotel is located at the Darbanga Ghat, and in high season is accessible only by boat transfer from nearby Bhisasur Ghat. There are a total of 32 rooms, all equipped with modern amenities but boasting a traditional Banarasi touch. The rooms and halls are decorated with artworks and antiques, all adding to the atmosphere of this majestic property. Dining is offered at the Chota Angan (small courtyard) for local delights, at the larger Darbhanga multi-cuisine vegetarian restaurant, or at the terrace cafe Kamalya.
