Grand Dragon - Leh

The Grand Dragon opened in 2007 and established itself as Leh’s leading modern hotel. Owned and operated by the Abdu family from Leh, the property is replete with fixtures and fittings fit for royalty, and decorated with handmade paintings by Gulam Mustafa, the first modern artist of Ladakh. Each of the 75 rooms are a mix of modern amenities and Ladakhi design, equipped with spacious bathrooms, comfortable beds, air-con and heating (depending on your time of visit!), and picture windows boasting excellent views. Main restaurant Tusrabs overlooks the gardens, an elegant setting which serves up authentic Ladakhi, Tibetan and Chinese cuisine. There is also a multi-cuisine restaurant for breakfast and coffee, and a small bakery. The hotel is a short drive or walk of around 20-25 minutes into the bazaars of central Leh.
