Nimmu House - Nimmu

Nimmu House was constructed over a century ago for the cousin of the King of Ladakh. It is situated at 3,100m altitude, and surrounded by Himalayan panoramas. Converted in 2012 into a charming retreat, the property is fully equipped for modern travellers yet has maintained its original Buddhist temples and cattle, in which yaks and dzos rest quietly. The 4 bedrooms are decorated with taste and respect to Ladakhi heritage while offering all the modern comfort. Walls and windows are dressed with warm tones and rough materials are creating a charming mountain style atmosphere. The rooms are situated on the first floor of the building and offer a view on the orchard and the Himalayan scenery surrounding the house. There are also seven comfortable tented rooms situated out in the gardens should you prefer! A stay at Nimmu House involves delightful meals, prepared with fresh products sourced directly from the orchard, the garden, the cattle and local farms. Breakfasts are composed with fresh fruits from the orchard, Ladakhi bread served with homemade jam and butter, and a choice of eggs or pancakes. Lunches and dinners have fixed 3-services menus and propose delicious Ladakhi, Indian, Asian, Mediterranean and French specialties. Meals are served in the charming traditional dining room or outside on the terrace surrounded by Himalayan panoramas.
