Spice Village is located in the centre of Thekkady town, but once inside one enters a haven of nature and tranquility. This mid-sized resort, run by the respected CGH Earth group, offers 52 cottage rooms, all of which are modelled on traditional Manan tribal dwellings which are native to this area. Although rustic in design, each cottage is well-equipped with spacious ensuite bathrooms, private outdoor terraces, and contemporary fittings. There is an excellent onsite restaurant, which sources ingredients from a maximum 50-mile radius, as well as the very attractive 'Woods' bar, named after Periyar's very first forest ranger. Other facilities include a small swimming pool, ayurvedic spa, and a badminton court.
