The Belum Eco Resort is set on an island in the heart of Lake Temenggor, near the Royal Belum National Park which is one of the last remaining virgin forests in Malaysia. The resort offers house boats or 'A' shaped chalets built alongside the hillside on the island, which blend in to the surroundings. The accommodation is simple but more than sufficient for the adventurous - chalets house simple beds, with shower facilities to be found in a separate outside block. The chalets are built into the hillside and have wonderful views from terraces out over the lake. Activities arranged on the island in the surrounding Belum-Temenggor Forest Reserve include bird watching, jungle trekking, wildlife & Rafflesia flower spotting trips, visits to the Asli villages, kayaking & tubing.

Our Opinion

Definitely one for the adventurous, but those who make it here will be richly rewarded with warm hospitality, excellent home-cooked food, and an ideal base from which to explore the jungle.
