Ellerton is a delightful bungalow in the hills about 30 minutes drive from Kandy. The building is over 100 years old and was originally built to be the home for the manager of a large tea estate. Now a friendly boutique hotel, Ellerton has retained its character and colonial charm. The bungalow has just eight rooms, all en-suite, some interconnecting, which can be ideal for small families and there is one well-appointed room in a separate building with views out over the valley, ideal for honeymooners or those seeking a bit more privacy. Drinks (except spirits and wine) are offered to guests on a complimentary basis and there are plenty of things to do if relaxing by the swimming pool or on the atmospheric veranda is not your thing. These include croquet, board games and table tennis. Bicycles are also provided, free of charge. There is a small restaurant, serving delicious local and international favourites. All in all, Ellerton is a very enjoyable place to spend a few days whether you are booking one room or the whole house for your exclusive use.
