Accommodation options are limited up near the North-Western tip of Luzon, but the Sitio Remedios in Currimao is a truly exceptional find, and a memorable stopover between Vigan and Laoag City. Probably the only private village you are likely to ever stay in, the Sitio Remedios is a recreation of a typical 50s Ilocano settlement – complete with colonial design and furnishings, and a Spanish-style courtyard layout. The hotel faces the calm West Philippine sea should you wish to go for a dip or stroll on the beach, and there is also a swimming pool to cool off in. The property itself is extremely interesting to walk around - there are numerous gardens, courtyards, and even a chapel on site. Rooms are fitted to a high standard with vintage furniture and features, and even though the staff have chosen not to install TVs they have included more important modern amenities such as aircon, hot water, and wifi.
