Alphonse Island is situated in Alphonse Atoll - one of three atolls that make up the Alphonse Group, the other two being St Francois and Bijoutier. This small group lies seven degrees south of the Equator and 400km southwest of Mahe giving it an isolated position in the middle of the Indian Ocean that attracts migratory birds. Non-feathered visitors reach Alphonse on a 60 minute flight from Mahe in search of the lodge accommodation and simple life that makes the island so attractive. Life here is quiet but there are a range of wonderful island experiences to keep guests occupied.
