Phan Thiet & Mui Ne

Once a Cham stronghold, Phan Thiet has in more recent years been a major fishing town. These days it is developing a reputation as one of Vietnam’s best beach resorts. Phan Thiet is located only a three hour drive north of Ho Chi Minh City, making this one Vietnam’s most accessible beach areas. There are a number of hotels and resorts all along Mui Ne Beach, with options to suit all budgets, from guesthouses right up to luxury resorts. The traditional fishing villages and fish markets are a fascinating insight into the local lifestyles here, and the area is also famous for producing fish sauce.

Mui Ne is also perfect for the more actively minded traveller, as a world-famous destination for windsurfing and watersports. The surrounding sand dunes are popular with visitors seeking some excitement, with quad-biking, jeep rides, and sandboarding.
