Rohetgarh has a rich history. Housing 15 generations of the same Rajput family since 1622, it opened its door to international visitors in 1990, thus becoming one of Rajasthan’s first fort hotels. Each of the 32 rooms are cool, spacious, and ooze with character. The heritage feel continues with low corridors leading between gardens and courtyards, one of which boasts a swimming pool. Rohetgarh invented the Rajasthan village safari, and these jeep drives with local guides remain a huge highlight. Other activities from the hotel include horse-riding, cooking classes, and bird-watching. Just 40 minutes from Jodhpur, the fort can also be used as a rural base for exploring the Blue City.
