Highlights of Muscat & Surrounds

Muscat slips somewhat below the radar when compared to its glitzier neighbours in the UAE and Qatar, but the city and surrounding area has a laid-back charm, making it a great area to explore. The coastline and beaches all along the north coast are tremendous and day trips into the interior, be it to craggy mountains, ancient forts or wavy desert dunes, are rewarding.
