A 30-minute flight from Mahe brings you to Bird Island, the most northerly island of the Seychelles archipelago, and a fantastic environment in which to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings of a tropical island. The eco-friendly lodge offers 24 simply furnished chalets that come with ceiling fan and a private bathroom. The emphasis here is on being with nature rather than being a slave to creature comforts. Meals are taken at the restaurant in the main building where there is also a bar and lounge area. Activities at the lodge revolve around nature so nature tours, snorkelling, diving and fishing trips are very much the order of the day. But kayaking and simply relaxing on the island’s beaches are also recommended.
