Sitting in the Gulf of Thailand, the island of Phu Quoc is about the same size as Singapore and is the largest of all the Vietnamese islands. The island offers visitors a mix of mountains, lush forest covered hills, waterfalls, bubbling streams, and some of Vietnam’s best beaches. Due to its location close to Cambodia, it is also one of the few places in Vietnam that you can enjoy the sun setting over the sea. Although some of the main beaches, such as Long Beach, are quite busy nowadays, there are still plenty of quiet spots and undiscovered coves waiting to be discovered, where you can get away from the crowds and enjoy some tranquility.

The island has become more developed in recent years and there are now some fantastic resorts to suit every traveller. The town also has a great night market, where you can sample some of the local seafood.

With good regional flight connections and boat transfers from both Vietnam and Cambodia, Phu Quoc would make a perfect end to a number of Southeast Asia tours.
