Tour of Mumbai: After breakfast, you will meet up with a private guide and head out to explore India's most enthralling city. The tour will begin at 9am sharp from Victoria Terminus (you will be picked up shortly before in order to arrive on). Victoria Terminus - also known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, or CST - is an architectural marvel of Mumbai. A UNESCO Heritage Site, the station is a hallmark of Victorian Gothic style on par with Paddington or St. Pancras. You will continue on foot down DN Road, also called the Heritage Mile. DN Road is one of the oldest parts of the city, reminiscent of its colonial past, and your walk here will culminate at the ornate Flora Fountain. Continue to explore the charming historic district of Kala Ghoda, with its many Gothic buildings and numerous art galleries. From here head on to the Gateway of India, an icon of Mumbai which has greeted visitors to Indian shores since 1911.
From the Gateway you will reunite with your driver and head by road to the Oval Maidan where in a great phalanx lie the Old Secretariat, University Library and Convocation Hall, High Court Building, the old PWD Building and Telegraph Department. You will then finally reach Churchgate Station around lunchtime to watch the Dabbawallas are in full swing sorting their precious, hot cargo. The guide will explain the ingenious system they use for keeping track of each and every meal and the challenges they face in delivering 200,000 lunch boxes daily. From Churchgate Station take you will board a local train to nearby Mahalaxmi station from where you can see the Dhobi ghat (the washermen’s colony). Dhobi Ghat is a well-known open air laundromat in Mumbai. The washers, locally known as Dhobis, work in the open to wash the clothes from Mumbai's hotels and hospitals. Here the tour will end and the vehicle will collect you to drive you back to your hotel.
Afternoon at leisure: After the sightseeing, you will be at leisure for the remainder of the day. Return to the hotel or relax, or continue to explore the entralling city of Mumbai independently. Suggested excursions include the Prince of Wales museum. A Mumbai landmark, the Prince of Wales Museum is one of the best museums in India with an excellent and well laid out collection of antiques. The highlights of the museum include Indo-Saracenic architecture of the museum building, artifacts from Indus Valley Civilization, decorative artifacts such as Mughal jades, textiles, and ivories.

Accessible only by motor launch, Elephanta (closed on Mondays) is a small island that rises near its centre into two conical hills. The excavations for which Elephanta is so celebrated are situated about two thirds up the higher of the two hills. These Rock Temples, marked by a large number of beautifully carved sculptures of Hindu gods and goddesses, were hewn out of the hill sometime in the eighth century. The exterior of the main cave consists of a columned verandah 30 feet wide and six feet deep, approached by steps flanked by sculptured elephants. After time to explore the site, you will return by boat and then car to your hotel to enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

Morning walking tour of Mumbai's markets: Early this morning, head out with your guide to experience the bustling colourful local markets of Mumbai. Watch hundreds of newspaper vendors sort papers in multiple languages; auctioneers frantically haggling fish prices, and organised chaos breaking out with the arrival of over 100 tonnes of vegetables, fruits and meat at the markets. The scenes in the wee hours truly define the mercurial character of Mumbai; and best of all, as you walk the same lanes a few hours later, you find no evidence of the morning’s hustle. The early morning tour will end with tea and snacks at a local tea shop. Some markets may be closed depending on the day of the week, but your guide will tailor the visits to ensure you have the best experience on any given day.

Guided tour of Old Goa: After breakfast, head out with your guide to explore Old Goa. Built on the bank of Mandovi River, Panaji is one of India's smallest and most pleasant state capitals. Fontainhas, the Latin Quarters, is an interesting area to walk around, with narrow streets, tiled buildings with overhanging balconies. At the centre of Fontainhas is the Chapel of St Sebastian, which has some interesting features and remains Panaji's main place of worship.
The Se Cathedral, begun in 1562 during the reign of King Dom Sebastiao, but not completed until 1652, remains Old Goa’s principal church and the seat of the Patriarch of the East Indies. Built in the Portuguese Gothic style, the Cathedral displays a Tuscan exterior and a Corinthian interior. The Convent and Church of St. Francis of Assisi is probably one of the most interesting buildings of old Goa. The gilded woodwork, old murals depicting the life of St. Francis and a floor covered with gravestones bearing coats of arms dating back to the 15th century, belie its humble beginnings. The Basilica of Jesus is revered throughout the Catholic world since it contains the tomb and mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. After sightseeing, you will be taken to the home of a local family to enjoy a home cooked lunch.
