Fo Guang Shan Monastery

Fo Guang Shan, literally meaning ‘the light of Buddha mountain', is a 52-acre temple complex outside the city of Kaohsiung. The complex houses several large shrines surrounded by grand rows of pillars and pagodas of all sizes. The network of footpaths and bridges within the complex are ideal for a tranquil wander while an overnight stay at the Pilgrim's Lodge allows visitors to experience the lifestyle of a Buddhist monk or nun in Taiwan.
