Thai Airways
Thai Airways is the country’s national carrier and a member of the Star Alliance. The airline has been flying since its founding in 1960 and operates from its hub in Bangkok. It has a fleet of 100 aircraft (including those from THAI Smile), most of which are Airbus or Boeing, and it flies to around 80 destinations in 34 countries in partnership with their regional and domestic wing – THAI Smile. International flights from the UK have a 3 cabin configuration with Economy Class, Royal Silk Business Class and Royal First.
Economy Class
An ergonomically designed and feature-filled space where your needs are anticipated and smiles are served from boarding to final destination. Plush, wide, reclining seats, with generous legroom that exceeds most other airlines, is one of the hallmarks of Economy Class travel with THAI. Add in bright and cheerful cabin colors, ample overhear storage bins and gracious, friendly service, no matter the distance your flight will be smooth as silk.
As you embark on your journey, sit back, relax and enjoy the extensive “Media Library” with a vast selection of movies and a wealth of selected songs at your fingertips on your very own personal in-seat touch screen monitor.
THAI also offer wider seats with more than generous legroom than most other worldwide airlines, so provide a more relaxed journey which aims to leave you feeling refreshed on arrival.
Royal Silk Class
Onboard the A380-800, the new A350-900, the Boeing 787 ‘Dreamliner’, and the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, each seat reclines to a lie-flat bed, while on other aircraft seats typically recline to between 160 to 170 degrees. All seats have a variety of positions between upright and fully reclined for optimum balance of head, back, leg angle and lumbar support. Seating configuration is designed equally for those who travel together and enjoy one another’s company, or those traveling on business who require a more private work or rest environment, a sliding panel between adjoining seats is available.
Your reclining chair is your lounge, office and bed in the clouds. To catering for your needs while en-route to your destination a range of amenities is provided throughout the fleet of aircraft, each being continually upgraded with the latest innovations in line with the character of each route.
Whilst other aircraft offer angled seating typically between 160-170 degrees, on THAI's Airbus A380s & A350s and their Boeing 777s & 787s, the chair can transform to 180-degree fully flat beds. Additionally, the spacious seats on all routes are customizable enabling you to select your optimum balance of head, back, leg angle and lumber support.
Choose from up to 100 music CDs, movies and TV channels on demand at your fingertips on the 15-16 inch flat screens. PC power points are also available at all seats along with USB ports for all kinds of other devices.
With Royal Silk Class, THAI not only offer passengers an exemplary award winning service and meals that will indulge your culinary senses, but also privileged access to exclusive lounges of THAI and partner airlines around the world.
