Camel riding in the desert

Local Bedouins have used camels as a means of transporting goods and people for millennia and visitors to both the Wahiba Sands and the Empty Quarter deserts can enjoy a selection of camel safaris and experiences. Nothing quite beats the romantic Arabian experience of watching the sunset over vast sand dunes while on the back of a camel. Camels are a domesticated animal in Oman (like horses) and we take the utmost care to only work with local operators and camps who treat their camels well.
