Day trip to the DMZ

Among the most bizarre recommendations we'll be making - how about a day trip to the world's most heavily fortified military border? Perhaps not for everyone, but these DMZ tours are safely and efficiently run (jointly operated by the Korean and US army) and a huge eye-opener into the history of the Korean peninsula. Not to mention a totally unique experience! Half-day tours visit several points along the border section closest to Seoul, including the Dora Observatory and Dorasan Station, the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, the Imjingak Bridge. A full-day tour will visit all these points, plus taking you on to the famous border village of Panmunjeom. Panmunjeom’s long blue huts house very occasional talks between the two sides, and are the closest you’ll get to crossing the border.
