Bird-watching at Olango Wildlife Sanctuary

The Olango island group lies about 3 miles east of Cebu. Accessible only by speedboat from the city, the Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary (OIWS) is one of four wetlands of international importance in the Philippines. The sanctuary, with over 900 hectares of coastal habitat, is on the south-west of Olango Island, and plays home to thousands of migratory birds. The best time for bird watching is from September to May at least two hours before peak high tide in order to see the largest concentration of birds in small areas. After breakfast you will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the port to take a boat to our guide will ensure you see as many different species as possible before it is time to take the boat back to Cebu, and return to your hotel.
