Cameron Highlands Rafflesia Safari

This experience begins early as you set off by road into the countryside towards the Lojing Highlands for a hike in search of the Rafflesia, the world’s largest flower. As you approach the hills there will be a switch of vehicles to a 4x4 to ascend to the starting point of today’s activity in the highlands. Set off on a guided walk in the forest led by experienced Orang Asli rangers. Today you will learn about traditional forest knowledge, medicinal plants, local wildlife, and search for the unique Rafflesia flower. The hiking trails take you through dense rainforest terrain and pristine nature. The duration of the hiking varies depending on trail conditions and your pace, but this normally ranges between two to four hours. Rafflesia blooms are sporadic, so sightings aren't guaranteed, but guides track them closely. Note that some of the hiking trails involve river crossings to reach certain blooming sites so this excursion required hiking attire and suitable footwear.
