The Three Village Walk

Highly recommended if you are staying in the Jebel Akhdar area is a spectacular walk through the three mountain villages of Al Aqr, Al Qyn and Ash Shirayjah. Take a local guide with you on this three hour hike and learn about the local culture their ancient ‘falaj’ water irrigation system which remains vital to the life of the farms that hang from the cliffs in terraces. At the end of the walk, you can enjoy a delicious lunch of local Omani food at a village house before heading back to your hotel by road. The walk should be manageable for those with a reasonable level of fitness, but you should note that there are some steep and rugged sections of path.
