Trekking in the Knuckles Mountain Range

The Knuckles Mountain Range rises 35km east of Kandy and offers some of the best trekking and most untouched scenery anywhere in Sri Lanka. The range is so-called as its folds and peaks supposedly resemble those of clenched fist - judge for yourself when you arrive. We work closely with a team of experts in the Knuckles who can guide you on anything from an easy three-hour trek to challenging three-day treks, camping out in the forest. The Knuckles are home to a surprisingly diverse selection of wildlife, including rare lizards and a fine collection of endemic bird species. The weather can turn quite sharply in the Knuckles so it's best to be prepared for all conditions, but when there are clear skies, the views are as beautiful as can be found anywhere in Sri Lanka.

You can get more of a taste of what a morning trekking in the Knuckles involves by reading Ewen's blog.
