Cycle around Cijin Island

If you are spending time in Kaohsiung, a short ferry ride over to Cijin Island is a must-do. The multi-coloured ferries that take you the five minutes over from the city have themselves become an attraction in their own right! Once there, Cijin is a delightful island to explore. There are shops just outside the ferry terminal where you can hire bicycles and quadracycles big enough to take the whole family and set off on your own and spend a half day exploring. There are lots of attractions to explore on the island, including a long beach with an interesting shipwreck, the British built Cihou Lighthouse and countless market stalls. Enjoy cycling around but be sure to stop at one of the local seafood restaurants, near the main ferry terminal for a fresh, delicious and inexpensive lunch.
