A Sri Lankan Tea Experience
Sri Lanka is famous for its tea growing and there is no better place to learn about how tea is produced and taste some of the finest brews in the world! We can arrange a selection of carefully curated tea experiences, depending on where you plan to stay.
Some of the upmarket hotels in the hill country, such as Ceylon Tea Trails near Hatton, The Hertiance Tea Factory near Nuwara Eliya or the Rosyth Estate House near Kegalle all have their own resident tea planters who need no second invitation to pass on their knowledge of tea and (often amusing) tea related stories. They will also introduce you to some of the most interesting and delicious teas produced in Sri Lanka.
Wherever you stay in the Hill Country region, we can arrange for you to visit a picturesque tea plantation and be walked around a real working tea factory where each stage of tea production will be explained to you.
Or, why not take a guided walk around a working organic farm in the Uva Highlands near Ella and learn the techniques involved not just in tea production, but also coffee and cinnamon too. This interactive experience will also allow you to try your hand at plucking and rolling some tea leaves too.
And, if you do not plan to visit the Hill Country, do not despair, you can also have a fantastic tea experience in the south, not far from Galle. Whatever your itinerary, your expert Sri Lanka consultant will be delighted to discuss the best tea experience for you.
